We are pleased to share that MetaPhlAn 4.2.5 is now available, which incorporates minor code improvements and includes a new version of the MetaPhlAn database (vJan26_202605) containing >13k new SGBs.

- Improved usability of the
sgb_to_gtdb.pyutility script with automatic detection of the correct gtdb conversion file, possibility to provide a different conversion file and to provide a MetaPhlAn merged profile (flag--merged_profiles)

vJan26 includes 72,000 SGBs, 13,669 more SGBs than in vJan25. To see the full list of species in the database you can check out the file in mpa_vJan26_CHOCOPhlAnSGB_202605_species.txt.bz2
