What is the point of BZip compression of intermediate files?
$ ls -lh SDC_2-Pintermediate*
-rw-r----- 1 dario staff 212 Aug 3 21:36 SDC_2-Pintermediate.bz2
-rw-r----- 1 dario staff 272 Aug 3 21:36 SDC_2-Pintermediate
It is just a tiny text file less than 1 KB in size. Compression has no real benefit.
