Coming here from the github bot
maaslin2 is a great tool and we are planning to include maaslin2 into Galaxy and using it in comparative-analysis focused trainings.
There is already a wrapper for it, but it needs to be fixed and updated: tools-iuc/tools/maaslin2 at main · galaxyproject/tools-iuc · GitHub - we will do that.
Could you maybe update the bioconda recipe with the newest release: bioconda-recipes/recipes/maaslin2/meta.yaml at master · bioconda/bioconda-recipes · GitHub
So we can also bump the version in the Galaxy wrapper to provide the users with the newest version.
If you would like to be involved in the planned training or can provide specific scenarios (longitudinal, fixed-effects … ) you would like to see in the training, please feel free to reach out as well.
Hi @Paul_Zierep , Thanks for the heads up! That is great to hear Maaslin2 will be included in Galaxy for trainings. I have a pull request in bioconda to update the Maaslin2 recipe to the latest version in Bioconductor. Update Maaslin2 version to use latest from BioC by ljmciver · Pull Request #46915 · bioconda/bioconda-recipes · GitHub
Please let us know if you need anything else on our end!
Thanks!
Lauren
Hi @lauren.j.mciver, great ! Ones it’s merged, we can bump the version in the wrapper as well! Any reason, the bioconductor version is not up-to-date with the latest release 1.7.3 (Releases · biobakery/Maaslin2 · GitHub) ? Is it a bioconductor issue ?
If you like you can provide ideas of common issues that people have with differential analysis, that could be targeted in this training, our current scenarios will probably focus on muti’omis analysis (mainly metagenomics and metabolomics), but any in ideas are welcome ! Best, Paul
