Hi,
I’m having some issues downloading and installing the KneadData database required to run it. I have successfully install KneadData itself, however I keep getting an error when using the provided commands to download it to a.
I used the following command to place it in a directory call “kneaddata_database”;
kneaddata_database --download human_genome bowtie2 kneaddata_database/
As a result the output I got was;
Download URL: http://huttenhower.sph.harvard.edu/kneadData_databases/Homo_sapiens_hg37_and_human_contamination_Bowtie2_v0.1.tar.gz
Downloading file of size: 3.48 GB
CRITICAL ERROR: Unable to download and extract from URL: http://huttenhower.sph.harvard.edu/kneadData_databases/Homo_sapiens_hg37_and_human_contamination_Bowtie2_v0.1.tar.gz
Something to note is that when I executed the command, it did begin to attempt the download, however the speed of the download was unusually slow and stilted, and it eventually halted and gave me the error. I even went to the URL and tried to download it myself into my laptop, but for some reason, it would not progress with the download.
On the other hand, I was easily able to download and install the database required for MetaPhlAn, so I don’t think there is anything wrong on this end.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Imadh
