Hi everyone,
I’m currently working with a group of regulatory proteins that share very high sequence similarity (identity ≥ 90%). I used these sequences as input to run shortbred_identify.py, and the process completed without any errors.
However, I noticed that one of the marker sequences in the output contains an “X”. I’m not sure what this means—has anyone encountered something similar? Is this normal behavior? If so, what does the “X” represent?
