Humann4 databases,full

humann v4.0.0.alpha.1
I downloaded the latest version of Humann (humann v4.0.0.alpha.1) and intended to use the UniRef90_full database for annotation. However, in the latest download URL, there is only the humann4_protein_database_filtered_v2019_06.dmnd file available, without the complete version of the database. If I use the old version of the full database, a warning message appears: ”CRITICAL ERROR: The directory provided for the translated database contains files ( uniref90_201901b_full.dmnd ) that are not of the expected version. Please install the latest version of the database: 2019_06”. How can I resolve this issue?

HUMAnN databases need to live within their own folders. It sounds like you might have the new database living alongside an older HUMAnN database in the same folder? (This is to support architectures where a database needs to be split up into multiple files that are searched sequentially.)

Per the HUMAnN v4a release notes, we are not yet providing a full protein database since it needs more work; the protein database provided has been filtered to high confidence proteins with known and novel EC assignments.
