Bacteria genus Phocaeicola

Hi,

I saw there is genus called Phocaeicola published in 2009 (https://lpsn.dsmz.de/genus/phocaeicola) and some of species under genus Bacteroides were classified under genus Phocaeicola in 2019 (https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fmicb.2019.02083/full). However, I can’t find Phocaeicola in the Metaphlan3 database. I was wondering if you can update the Metaphlan3 database with the information of genus Phocaeicola?

You can not find the Phocaeicola genus in the MetaPhlAn database as the species that are now re-classified under this genus are listed under the Bacteroides genus. This is because at the time of the database creation (January 2019), this was the taxonomic label assigned to the genomes by NCBI.
Future versions of the database will have the genomes with the new updated taxonomy.
