Using weights in the Maaslin2

Hi. Currently, I have a matadata containing weights for each participants, which means every participant may represent different number of participants. And the ASV table is specific to the actual number of participants. The weights could help me better balance my covariants (which were currently quite unbalanced among my comparison groups), so I really want to take the weights into consideration.

I am wondering is it possible to use weights option in Maaslin2 when conducting differential abundance tests? Like what the typical generalized linear models could realize:

glm(formula, family = gaussian, data, weights, subset, na.action, …)

Could you please help fix it out?

Hi @ZoeWang ,

At this moment I do not believe we plan to implement weights into Maaslin2 but we can make note of this for future iterations!
