# AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'group' running shortbred\_quantify.py

Hi, I am running shortbred\_quantify.py v0.9.5 in a WGS file and I get the following error:

Tested usearch. Appears to be working.  
Treating input as a wgs file…  
Traceback (most recent call last):  
File “/usr/local/miniconda3/envs/shortbred/bin/shortbred\_quantify.py”, line 296, in   
strID = mtchFam.group(1)  
AttributeError: ‘NoneType’ object has no attribute ‘group’

The log from the temporary file is the following  
ShortBRED log  
Sat Jan 14 00:00:00 2023  
SEARCH PARAMETERS  
Match ID:0.95  
Pct Length for Match:0.95  
Sequences: Markers

Here is the command line: shortbred\_quantify.py --markers …/markers/mytestmarkers.faa --tmp tmp\_quantify --wgs G1\_2663\_megahit\_final.genes.fasta --results G1\_2663\_results.txt --usearch /usr/local/miniconda3/envs/shortbred/bin/usearch --threads 8

I don’t know what the error means. Please could you help me?

No, I’m not. Sorry. I uninstalled and reinstalled it but still got the same problem.
